Leslie and I grew our first garden together in 1988, near Freetown, Indiana where she grew up. It was the hottest, driest summer of the decade, but our little vegetable patch thrived, due in large part to the location. It was an area where horses had been kept for years, and all the composted manure gave that ground the fertility and moisture-holding...
We sell cut flowers by the stem or in ready-made or made-to-order bouquets at the summer farmer's markets we attend. Below is a list of flowers we grow. Please contact us with any questions about quantity or seasonal availability.
• Bachelor's Buttons
This year, we expect another good crop of figs. Look for CSA shares to include fresh figs for several weeks in late summer as our Chicago Hardy fig tree, a reliable producer since 2010, is joined by younger Atreano and Brown Turkey fig trees coming into bearing age.
